Episode 22: Hire Us, Valiant

This week, the boys talk a lot more Valiant. In this week's first issue review, Alan and Brooks tackle the publisher's Book of Death, then conversation switches to its upcoming movie franchises before Brooks decides to update his resume for the current Marketing & Communications opening. (In all seriousness, people should apply for that job).

The two also talk Eisner winners, Olivia Munn's Psylocke look, and (it wouldn't be a Too Many Comics episode without this) Jeff Lemire's Descender.

In case you missed it, last week's interview with Nathan Edmondson can be found here. Stay tuned for John Arcudi's talk.

Other books of note this week:

  • Rumble, Vol. 1
  • Hawkeye #1-22
  • Robin: Son of Batman #2
  • Dead Drop #3
  • Invincible #121
  • The Island #1

Next week's #1 review:

  • Wolf #1 (Image) - Ales Kot - The crime noir thrills and characters reminiscent of True Detective meet with mythical stakes worthy of Neil Gaiman's Sandman in this original fantasy/horror/crime saga for mature readers. Antoine Wolfe, a hard-boiled paranormal detective with a death wish, has to cope with sudden responsibility for an orphaned teenage girl who might be the key to the impending apocalypse, California-style. The road to hell and back begins in a MAX-SIZED FIRST ISSUE, with fifty-eight pages of story and no ads!
